Promotions, Merchandising & Content Management — CommerceWeave
Merchandising

Marketing and merchandising teams self-serve — without waiting in IT queues.

Rule-based promotions, visual merchandising tools, and CMS-style content blocks that give marketing and catalog teams direct control over the commerce experience.

The Problem This Solves

Before CommerceWeave

Marketing teams submit tickets to IT for catalog changes, promotional launches, and content updates. IT queues add days to weeks of delay between business need and live change, slowing marketing responsiveness and creating competitive disadvantage.

With CommerceWeave

Marketing and merchandising teams manage catalog, promotions, and content directly through self-service tools. Promotional windows launch and expire automatically. Content changes go live without a development deployment.

How It Works

Rule-Based Promotions Engine

The promotions engine supports the full spectrum of discount structures used in B2B and B2C commerce: percentage off entire order or specific categories, fixed amount off, buy-X-get-Y, tiered discounts by order value, and free shipping thresholds. Promotions are configured with date-bounded activation windows that launch and expire automatically without manual intervention. Customer segment targeting allows promotions to be restricted to specific buying groups, account tiers, or individual accounts — ensuring that promotional pricing is visible only to the intended audience. Promotions stack according to configurable stacking rules, and the promotions engine resolves the applicable discount set in the context of the buyer's account and current order, respecting the priority order defined in the promotion configuration.

Visual Merchandising and Catalog Control

Category management tools give merchandising teams direct control over product sort order, featured product placement, and category navigation structure without requiring developer involvement. Products can be pinned to specific positions in category listings, new products can be promoted to the top of sort order for a configured window, and out-of-stock products can be automatically moved to the end of the listing or hidden from the category view. Category landing pages can be configured with custom banners, introductory content, and featured brand sections through the visual merchandising interface. These tools are accessible to merchandising team members through role-scoped access that allows catalog management without exposing pricing, order, or integration configuration.

CMS-Style Content Blocks

CommerceWeave's built-in content management system provides structured content block templates for the most common commerce content types: homepage hero banners with CTA configurations, category landing page headers, product detail page supplementary content, announcement banners with dismissal tracking, and promotional overlay lightboxes. Each content block type has a defined template with configurable fields — image, headline, body copy, CTA label and destination — that marketing team members populate through a form interface. Content blocks support scheduling: a holiday promotion banner can be configured weeks in advance and will go live and expire automatically at the configured times. For organizations using an external headless CMS, content block data can be ingested via the content API, with CommerceWeave rendering the content block according to the configured template.

Architecture & Integration Notes

The promotions engine applies before-hooks on the pricing calculation workflow to inject applicable promotional discounts after contract pricing has been resolved. This ensures that promotional discounts are applied on top of ERP-authoritative pricing rather than replacing it. A policy override controls promotion stacking behavior and priority resolution. Content blocks are served via the Content API, which supports both the built-in CMS and external CMS integrations through the same contract.

AI Copilot for Promotions, Merchandising & Content Management

The AI copilot assists with promotion configuration by analyzing historical order data to suggest discount structures and targeting criteria that are likely to drive incremental volume. It validates promotion configurations against known edge cases — overlapping date windows, conflicting stacking rules, segment targeting gaps — before activating the promotion.

AI Copilot — Available on Growth & Enterprise Plans

AI Copilot reduces implementation time for promotions, merchandising & content management by automatically generating field mappings, test datasets, and validation scripts based on your ERP schema — so your team can ship faster without writing repetitive configuration code.
